6th February

Hello there!

An update on the last post where I showed you this photo:

Evelyn took the quilt to Drummoyne Sailing Club to raffle at a fundraising evening for bushfire victims on 24th January.  Subsequently, we received a delightful email from Kathy, the winner of the quilt, to thank us for it and saying how much she loves it.  It is fabulous to get feedback like that.
Robin brought in a large bag of lovely fabrics, mostly children’s, as well as a number of children’s quilt tops donated by Quilt N.S.W.  They have been very generous with their donations to us.

Lesley delivered quilts to Legacy, and Bev 7 lap quilts to Concord Hospital's Palliative Care Unit as they were completely out of quilts.

As usual, a lot of lovely completed quilts came in this meeting.

First up was a pretty quilt, one of a number of tops donated by Susan and Shelly from Pittworth in Queensland, before Christmas.

And lastly, three little flannel wraps

Great work ladies.

First Meeting for November

There were lots of us at this meeting.  Maria was there for the first time since breaking her foot - good to see you Maria!  Lots of people means there were heaps of quilts brought in, so heaps of eye candy for you.

We had two lovely ladies, Moo Baulch and Charlotte Davies, come to talk to us about Domestic Violence NSW (DVNSW).  The organisation is the representative body for domestic and family violence services and practitioners across the whole of NSW. So sad that such services are required.  We have been supporting this organisation since October 2015 and have donated 308 quilts over that time.  Today we had a large donation ready to give the ladies.

The Senior Citizens lunch will be on the 3rd November.  We had 3 little quilts prepared to donated to them as prizes.

And now to show you the completed quilts which came in today.

Firstly I have to tell you that Evelyn is part of a group of Trinity Grammar School mums who mostly sew for charity.  This is a donation from Ann, one of these ladies.  Evelyn quilted it.

This one is a little quilt made by our member Ann P and quilted by Evelyn

The next 4 quilts were made by Cheryl....

Look at those 2" squares from the quilt above!!

And this one is made with 2.5" squares.

The next 3 quilts were made by Evelyn

Evelyn also quilted this quilt made by Lynn H, one of the Shepparton Quilters.

Helen brought in 4 little flannel wraps and another batch of beanies

Just take a look at the adorable little dogs in this quilt made by Jan.

The next 3 little kids quilts were a donation via QuiltNSW

Sadly, I can't tell you who made the next two quilts, although I do know that Cheryl quilted the first one.

That's it for today.  Our last meeting for this year will be the next one, on the 15th November.  We are actually meeting again, but it will be strictly social and a Christmas lunch.

See you next year.

First July Meeting

I wasn't able to get to the meeting this time, so Evelyn stepped in to take the photos and Lesley took some notes, so that I could still put up a post.  Thank you ladies!

Jill and Maria went to the morning tea organised by the Senior Citizens Centre.  This event is an annual event and we donate quilts to be passed on to Westmead hospital.

Jill took 4 lap quilts to Meals on Wheels.  You might remember that we made a quilt for each client of Meals on Wheels, for both Burwood and Concord depots a couple of years back.  The ones delivered this time were top ups for new clients.

We also donated 12 single and 19 children's quilts, 16 beanies, 10 scarfs and 2 knitted rugs to Sanctuary House.

Robin brought in 35 quilts tops donated by a group of ladies from Shepparton in Victoria, which the kind ladies delivered to Robin at the recent QuiltNSW quilt show. I will be posting photos of these as they are finished.  How generous are these ladies!!

Here are the quilts for this week.
