Second April Meeting

A few people away this week, so a much smaller meeting.  But that didn't mean we weren't busy or that we had no fun!

Since our last meeting, we delivered a batch of 37 quilts to the Domestic Violence Unit in Burwood.  We have received an email since to advise that some of these have gone to a refuge in Wilcania, and the rest will go to Bourke and Dubbo in June.  To quote from the email  "The quilts are absolutely lovely..."

Bev passed around a lovely article which appeared in the Inner West Courier on 17th April about a WWII veteran called Reg Chard who volunteers as a guide at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway.  You can read the full article by clicking on that link, but you will need to search for it, as I couldn't find a direct link.

And here is the quilt parade

Made by Ann, with some terrific quilting by Bev

Look at these fun doggy novelty fabrics from the quilt above!  Seriously cute.

Next one is made by Sue E from Friday Quilters, from fabrics donated by Joan, also from Friday Quilters, and quilted by Dasha.

On Sunday, 22 April there was an Anzac dawn service at the Kokoda track Memorial Walkway.  Bev and Lesley attended the service and donated this quilt, made by Bev, to War Veteran, Reg Chard (see above)

And this is Bev with Reg after the service.

Honouring our ANZACs.  Lest we Forget.
