Another Big Meeting

Almost all our members came to the meeting last week, so there are heaps of quilts to show you.  Robin reported that she had dropped some more quilts off to Domestic Violence.  They are always happy to receive our quilts!

Amongst the quilts brought in today are a number of quilts donated to our group for distribution.  A big thank you to these generous ladies for their lovely donations:

Two donations were from the Shepparton Quilters.  First is one from Betty

And one from Lynne, also from Shepparton Quilters.

A cute kids quilt from Cheryl, from Friday Quilters

And one from Maralyn.

Some warm beanies and scarves....

And a handful of flannel wraps.

Quite a few of these quilts are what I call "man" quilts.  It's great to see as a lot of our quilts are distinctly feminine.

And that's it for today.  Next meeting is in the first week of September, and officially the beginning of Spring for us.  Can't believe how quickly this year has flown by.

6th August Meeting

Our last meeting was held on Thursday last week.  Not as many members were able to come this time, and not as many quilts.

Bev took a bundle of quilts to Concord Palliative Care Unit.  They are always very appreciative of these!

Ros went to the Concord Farmers Market, last Sunday to hand over a couple of quilts to the Rotary Club of Concord for fund raising. These markets, which are managed by the Rotary Club of Concord as a community project are held on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month, and features lots of yummy local produce.

You might have noticed in a couple of previous posts that we have donated beanies and scarves to the Vinnies Night Patrol, which is run by the St Vincent de Paul Society and operates seven nights a week around inner Sydney suburbs providing a meal, blankets, toiletries, snacks, hot beverages to people living on the streets.  We donate to them via the Santa Sabina College Outreach.  Coleen advised that we had received a lovely letter from the Outreach Co-Ordinator acknowledging our donations and thanking us.

So here are the lovelies which came in today:

This was a donation from Robin's friend Maralyn.
