20 August

There were a number of deliveries of quilts made since the last meeting.  One bundle was taken to Chiswick Manor Care Community.  We received a call thanking us from one of the recipients.

Another bundle went to Concord Palliative Care Unit, which was gratefully received.

When we made a delivery to Meals on Wheels, they issued us with an invitation to their morning tea next Wednesday.

We have also received a Thank You note from the Rev. Bill Cruze Foundation for our donation of woolen items. This foundation provides a comprehensive support hub where people can access nutritious meals, health and dental care, and crisis support.

Despite a few members away, we had a big pile of quilts brought in to this meeting, 27 of them actually.  Here they are:

And as usual, a table full of woollen items:

That's it for today.  Enjoy the Spring sunshine, and see you next time.

Hello 2026

Happy New Year lovely people.

Last Thursday was the first meeting of Stitching Hearts members for 2026.  It was lovely to catch up with those who came, and those who didn't were sorely missed.

Late last year, we donated some quilts to We Care Connect.  This organisation gave out Christmas parcels to over 4000 children in need in the Central Coast & Hunter regions.

One of our members showed us a photo of a friend in the palliative care unit who had been given one of our quilts.  These quilts give so much pleasure to the recipients!

Several members reported that they had received quilt tops over the Christmas break from friends for our group to complete.  Some have been brought in, but more will be arriving as they are completed.

Here is the quilt parade. Enjoy!

First up is a top donated to us from Dallas B.

This one was made by Karen J's mother:

Look at this great backing for the jungle quilt above.  Couldn't resist showing you that 😉

There were a few knits this week, and the cutest stuffed cat.

That's it folks.  See you next time.....
