Second Meeting for April

We had a lovely meeting last week, despite a few people still being away.

A delivery of 20 quilts, some baby wraps and booties was made to We Care Connect in Wyong.  They were so appreciative, and we were given a short tour of the warehouse facility.

Some lovely quilts came in today including some donated by 3 of our regular donors.

First up is this one - donated by Susan U from Queensland.  She has donated quite a few previously, and sent us a bundle of tops recently.  Thank you Susan!

Next is one from Sue E from Friday Quilters:

And one from the Monday Quilters Group.

They do the cutest applique work, and this quilt is no exception.  Just take a look at this darling Mrs Duck off to do her shopping.....

I am doing things upside down today.  Usually I show the woolen items last, but just in case you thought they were not important, I am doing them first.  These items are just so appreciated when we donate them, so they are really an important part of what we do.

This quilt is amazing - each block has a part of a story on it and was probably meant to be made into a book.  There's one of the blocks in the next photo to show what I mean.

We are always short of masculine quilt, but this week we actually had 3 come in.

Easter

Our meeting last week was on the Thursday before Easter.  This of course impacted our numbers, with quite a few away.  We still managed to have a good show of quilts come in.

We delivered a raffle quilt to each of 2 local schools - Concord West Public School and North Strathfield Public School.  We should receive notification in due course as to the moneys raised.

The ladies present agreed to select a raffle quilt for the Brisbane Water Bridge Club (at Woy Woy), who will be having a fund raiser in July.  The charity this year is the Woy Woy Community Pantry. This has since been delivered.

We also selected a bundle of quilts, baby wraps and baby booties to be delivered to We Care Connect in Wyong.

Here are the quilts for this week:

The first 4 were made by Sue E from Friday Quilters.  Well done Sue and thank you.

There was also a large bundle of knits.  Isn't that a cheerful shawl at the front?

And a big pile of the cutest little baby booties, and flannel wraps. (These went straight into the bundle for delivery to We Care Connect)

That's it for today.  Thanks for visiting, and see you soon.
