May

I was so late with my last post that the next meeting was upon me.  So I have combined the photos from both May meetings and am reporting them together.  Apologies!

Dooley's Catholic Club at Lidcombe, have very generously given us a grant.  Very welcome indeed as our funds were running low, and so was the wadding!  So this will enable us to get our stocks of wadding up to a reasonable level

We delivered a bundle of quilts to Mission Australia for their work with domestic violence victims.

Sydney Holy Flames Church on Majors Bay Road, Concord are having a fundraising event and requested a raffle quilt, which we were able to provide.

We have also delivered a bundle of quilts to Meals on Wheels.  We haven't donated any there for a long time, so they were delighted to receive the new batch.

Here are the quilts which have come in this month.  First up 2 quilts from ladies at Friday Quilters.  Both have been very generous with their time in the past.  Thank you ladies.

Lyn made this,

And Cheryl, this one

Our spin off group, Monday Quilters, made the next two quilts.  They are both beautifully stitched applique and embellished with embroidery.  I just love those rabbits!

This quilt was stunning.  Very effect 2 colour quilt.

There were a lot of woollen items came in - beanies, scarves and booties, flannelette baby wraps, and some dear little baby slippers.

The next two photos are not of the same quilt!  Check out the top right hand corner - they are different on the two quilts.  LOL

Thanks for visiting, and if you got to the end of this post you deserve a gold medal. ;-)

May has 5 Thursdays, so my next post won't be until the beginning of June.  See you then.

21st March

We received an appreciative email from the Dandelion Support Network who also acknowledged our donation on their website. They would love to receive some quilts for teenagers.

Our co-ordinator has contacted several schools in the local area.  Three of these would love a raffle quilt.  We also a raffle quilt to Concord Palliative Care Unit to be used as a fund raiser.

Chiswick Manor published an article of appreciation for quilts given to recipients in their newsletter, as well as sending us a lovely Thank You card, with a Spotlight voucher enclosed.

The Monday Group have donated this adorable "doggy" quilt.  Aren't those little puppy faces just too cute?

Wattle Grove Quilters have also sent in a quilt for us:

And here is a quilt from Sue, of Friday Quilters:

There were a lot of I spy quilts brought in this time.  Always a favourite with our children's charities.

Last but not least, a beautifully crocheted shawl.

Enjoy the Easter break - don't eat too much chocolate!
