Second July Meeting

Our meeting last week provided a lovely bundle of quilts.  You actually don't see many quilts made with orange fabric, and even fewer with yellow fabrics. In this bunch of quilts there are several orange ones and two yellow.

We made a delivery to Meals on Wheels since our last meeting.  We "top them up" quite regularly so that they can provide a quilt to any of their new customers.  They are really appreciated, since many of the customers don't receive a lot of gifts, let alone a gift from a complete stranger.

A raffle quilt was also delivered to Our Lady of Assumption church for a fund raiser.  We will find out in due course the amount raised.

With no further ado, here are the quilts brought in this week:

The first three quilts were made by Robyn D.  Thank you Robyn.  She is very generous with her time.

The next two quilts were made by ladies from Friday Quilters.  The first is from Sue:

And this one is by Lyn:

Some lovely scarves and beanies:

The rest of the quilts were made by our members.  I always find the variety of designs and colours very inspiring:

See you next time.

Easter 2025

Our last meeting was on the Thursday before Easter, but due to the holidays I haven't had time to get this post up before today.

We have made deliveries to the Concord Hospital Palliative Care Unit, We Care Connect and to Meals on Wheels since the last meeting.  One of the Meals on Wheels quilts went to a lady who is 104.  An unexpected gift for her birthday!

We have donated quilts to be raffled soon at two events locally.  The first is to a fund raising event called Biggest Morning Tea, to support Breast Cancer.  The second was to Chiswick Manor Care Community Art Show to be held on the 14th May.  The Art Show displays paintings done by the residents with the aid of their art teacher.  Proceeds to Parkinsons research.  More info on results when they come to hand.

There were a lot of quilts brought in this time.  The first 4 were donated by Lynn S.

The next two quilts were made by Sue from Friday Quilters.

Thank you ladies!  I am sure they will be well received.

So that's me for this time.  Hope you have enjoyed our little quilt show.
