Last Meeting for 2020

Well not quite. Our last meeting will be our Christmas Party so it will be purely social, and I will be unlikely to post anything.

Throughout this year we have been filling up a piggy bank with loose change.  Maria has counted that, and we have $200 to donate to a charity.  After much discussion we decided to support the organisation Soldier On.  This organisation supports members of the Defence Force through Health and Wellbeing services, Employment programs, Learning opportunities, and Participation activities.

The completed quilts brought in today will be delivered to Kara Women and Children's Shelter in Gosford.

Our little band of Helper Elves have been hard at work again!

The first three quilts were made by Sue from Friday Quilters:

Next is a quilt from Lynn, from Shepparton Quilters:

These are flannel wraps for babies:

A bundle of beanies & scarves, & some cute baby booties.

Well, that is it for 2020.  Have a wonderful Christmas, and see you in mid-January.  Thank you for following on and your encouraging comments this year, they are much appreciated.

Heaps of Quilts & Some Good News

This will be the second last post for the year - amazing to think that it is almost the end of 2020.  I don't think anyone will be sorry to see the back of it.

We had some wonderful news this week.  Dooley's Catholic Club at Lidcombe has made a generous donation towards our efforts.  We are always in search of funds for the big ticket items of wadding and backing fabric, and now we find our iron needs replacing.  A huge thank you to Dooley's for the donation.

Jill advised that 25 single bed quilts were delivered to Concord Palliative Care unit.  Quilts from today's meeting will go to Domestic Violence.

The first 3 quilts are from Betty S from Shepparton Quilters

And this one is by Barb, also from Shepparton Quilters.

Thank you ladies for your continued support.

Terri from Wattlegrove Quilters made this pretty quilt

This one was made by Cheryl, from Friday Quilters.

And this one by Sue, also Friday Quilters.

Someone was having fun with Pansy fabrics.  If you look closely at the next three photos, you will see Pansies galore ☺

And some flannel wraps for babies.  The elephants on the first one make me smile!

Last but not least, some cute knitted baby booties, crochetted beanies, scarves and a lovely shawl.

That's it for now.  See you in a couple of weeks.
