1st October

Well here we are again with another bunch of great photos.  It's always so inspiring when I make a trip to Sydney to Stitching Hearts, hope it inspires you too.

We have been approached for donations by two different organisations.  Open Support provides services to women and children escaping domestic and family violence, and people experiencing social isolation and loneliness.  They are based in Darlinghurst, and you can read more here.  We selected a raffle quilt for them.

We were also contacted by the NSW Health Child Protection Counselling Service for some quilts for kids.  Read more about this service here.  After a discussion at our meeting we agreed to make a donation and will contact them for collection.

A delivery was made to the Concord Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

The first quilt was a sweet little child's quilt donated by Cheryl at Hobby Sew:

And there were lots of warm woollens too - scarves and beanies.

Thanks for visiting and see you next time.

17th September

Only a few of us here today.  Several were overseas, and various other reasons for not coming.  Consequently, not many quilts came in for me to show you.  But there was quite a lot of business not covered last week.

Remember I told you we gave 2 quilts to Drummoyne Public School to auction?  One sold for $200 and the other will be used for a Father's Day Raffle. The silent auction raised $16,000.  Great result for the school.

One of our members attended the morning tea at Meals on Wheels.  We will be donating some quilts to those who have been volunteering for over 10 years.

The great news is that we have received grants from Burwood RSL Club and Canterbury Leagues Club.  This will fund us for a while.

Spring 2026

Our last meeting was on 3 September, officially Spring, and we have been enjoying some gorgeous weather lately.

Lots of wonderful quilts came in for us to distribute to those in need.  Here is the quilt parade:

No.  I haven't doubled up here.  There were two quilt almost the same.

20 August

There were a number of deliveries of quilts made since the last meeting.  One bundle was taken to Chiswick Manor Care Community.  We received a call thanking us from one of the recipients.

Another bundle went to Concord Palliative Care Unit, which was gratefully received.

When we made a delivery to Meals on Wheels, they issued us with an invitation to their morning tea next Wednesday.

We have also received a Thank You note from the Rev. Bill Cruze Foundation for our donation of woolen items. This foundation provides a comprehensive support hub where people can access nutritious meals, health and dental care, and crisis support.

Despite a few members away, we had a big pile of quilts brought in to this meeting, 27 of them actually.  Here they are:

And as usual, a table full of woollen items:

That's it for today.  Enjoy the Spring sunshine, and see you next time.
