Second post for October

So Thursday was the day of our last meeting.  We had a nice turn out with 19 quilts and 8 yarn items brought in.

Since last meeting, we made a delivery to the Concord Hospital Palliative Care Unit.  They were nearly out of stock, so were very pleased to receive the quilts.

We have also received a lovely thank you message from the family of a recipient of one of our quilts.  It's always lovely to get feed back from a happy customer.

Here are the quilts which came in.

The first two were made by Lyn from Friday Quilters:

And here are the woolen items.  That rug is so colourful!

Lovely lot of quilts and knits aren't they?  Hopefully they will make the lives of a few people a little bit brighter.

2 October

Lovely meeting last week!  And a lot of business was covered.

2 quilts to be raffled have been given to Concord rotary for the fashion parade they are organising in conjunction with Gayle's Boutique on 25 October.  Proceeds will be donated to support the Parkinson's  Disease Centre, Concord Hospital.

Some time ago we donated a quilt for the Chiswick Manor Art Show.  We have received notice that this quilt raised $250.

Since last meeting, we made a donation to Grace's Place and the Dandelion Network.

One of our members attended a meeting of the Concord Rotary and spoke of what we do. Her talk was well received and the Rotarians were impressed by our productivity.

There were a lot of quilts and crocheted items brought in today.

First up are 5 quilts made by our friends Robyn and Mary who donate to us regularly.  Thank you ladies!

The rest were made by our members.  A lovely spread.

And here are the woollens:

See you soon!

18th September

A very late post this time.  It was supposed to come to you from deepest Herefordshire in England, but there was a technical glitch and so here it is now.

We have received a grant from both The Concord Senior Citizens Club and Canada Bay Council.  These were very much needed funds, without which we cannot continue in our work for the various groups we support.  We are very grateful for the ongoing support these two organisations give us.

The funds have allowed us to place an order for wadding, which was desperately needed and also some backing fabrics.

Since the last meeting, we delivered some quilts to the Dandelion Network.  They were delighted to receive them, since they were very low on stock.

Concord Rotary advised that they would be holding a fashion show, arranged by Gayles Boutique in Mortlake, to be held in October. Funds raised are to be donated to the Parkinson’s Disease Research Centre.

There were some lovely quilts arrived today:

And of course a table full of warm woollens.
