Our Christmas Meeting

Well, I hadn't intended to report on our last meeting since it was officially a Christmas party and simply a social gathering, but there were 21 completed quilts were brought in, so I took photos of them and they are below.

The quilt count this year was in excess of 450 quilts, with many crocheted items as well.  Plus the 21 quilts which came in this time.  A truly awesome number for a small group.  We could never have achieved that number without the loyal support of several groups of ladies who are not members of Stitching Hearts, but who contribute something to almost every meeting - Trinity Quilters, Hobbysew Group and Friday Quilters.  There are always some donations from individuals throughout the year too.

So here are the quilts:

The first 5 were made by the ladies of Trinity Quilters:

Next two are from Friday Quilters.  The first was made by Lyn:

And this one was made by Sue:

And some flannel baby wraps, beanies and shawls:

A few drawstring bags, with beanies with matching scarves:

Thank you for supporting us by visiting.  Have a wonderful Christmas, and see you in the New Year.

17th October

Here we are almost at the end of the year.  People are putting up Halloween decorations everywhere.  Do you celebrate Halloween?

At our meeting last week many were away, but there was still a huge crop of lovely quilts.  26 of them to be precise and a bundle of crocheted items too.  But before I show them to you I wanted to share with you the lovely Thank You we received from the Meals on Wheels ladies.  We took a bundle of quilts to them to distribute amongst their clients, and they put the following up on their Facebook page:

We also donated a quilt to the Rotary Club of Concord to be used as a raffle quilt to raise funds for the Parkinson's Disease Centre at Concord Hospital.  The event is actually a Fashion Parade to be held in just a few days time.

Another quilt was given as a raffle quilt to a local kindergarten for their fund raiser too.

And now to the main event - the quilts!  Several donations were received this week.  Firstly 3 quilts from Heather D:

And a couple from the ladies in the Hobbysew Group:

And here are the rest....

Thanks for visiting.
