Quilts selected last meeting for Dandelion have been delivered.
Each year, we collect loose change in a "piggy bank" at our meetings and at the end of the year the "pig money" is donated to one of the local charities. This year we have chosen the Sikh Kitchen as the charity. They have been really active in the community during Covid, and also throughout the fires and floods we have experienced in recent years.
Several of our members have been working hard cutting 6.5" squares from children's fabrics and bundling them into "kits". These were distributed at the meeting, so you'll see a few "I spy" quilts coming through in the next few weeks.
Remember I mentioned the quilt last post, (read it by clicking here) which was sent to the Royal Flying Doctor Service to be raffled? I received a photo of the quilt a few days ago and some details too. The quilt was a donation to our group, made by Jacky Barton and quilted by Sue Rowles. It is stunning!
As usual, there were some lovely quilts came in this week.
The first four quilts are a donation from our long time supporters Mary and Robyn. All made by Robyn and quilted by Mary. Thank you ladies.
