The last Thursday of November was our Christmas Party, which we had in a local Cafe.
Lots of good food, laughter and companionship, and a hilarious game organised by Lesley.
Jill passed around a list of the donations our group has made this year. It was amazing what our little band of worker bees have managed to do this year. We could not have done so much without the help of some generous people from around Australia, who have given us completed quilts, quilt tops and lots of lovely fabrics. I was so excited I thought I should share it with you:
This year we donated 16 quilts as fund raisers to the following organisations:
Our Lady of Assumption School, North Strathfield
St Patrick's Church, Mortdale
Drummoyne Rotary Club (2 quilts)
Nicole Fitzsimmons Foundation
Palliative Care Unit, Concord Hospital
Cara Care, Concord
All Hallowes Church, Five Dock
Massey park Golf Club Charity Day
CWA Drought Relief Fund (2 quilts)
Handital, Five Dock
Concord Hospital Volunteers
Concord Senior Citizen's Club (3 quilts)
We also donated 254 quilts of different sizes, and 46 baby wraps - 300 in total; And 222 crocheted items made up of beanies, scarves, shawls, cuddles, slippers, bed jacket, rugs, and stuffed animals.
I won't list a complete breakdown of who got what and when as that will bore your socks off, but here are the organisations to which we donated quilts and crocheted items:
House With No Barriers, Orange
Lillian's, Erskineville
Palliative Care Unit, Concord Hospital
Ronald McDonald House
Chris O'Brien Lifehouse
Domestic Violence NSW
Meals on Wheels, Concord,
Westmead Children's Hospital
Sanctuary Housing, Ashfield
Dandelion Network
Barnardo's, Wyong
Total donations - 316 quilts
- 222 crocheted items
Merry Christmas to all our supporters. See you in January.
