Our meeting last week was lovely. Almost everyone was able to come, so a packed house. Sadly we had news that one of our members is no longer able to join us, as her husband cannot be left alone. She will be missed!
Since our last meeting we made a delivery to Grace's Place. It is a place we have only recently begun supporting and is a trauma recovery centre for children affected by homicide. You can click on the link if you would like to know more about the organisation.
One of our members reported a conversation with a neighbour, whose daughter is a volunteer at the Concord Palliative Care Unit, where many of our quilts go. This lady said that "the joy that the quilts bring to patients make her cry". Isn't that lovely? Makes all the hard work of making a quilt worthwhile when you hear something like that.
And on that note, here are the wonderful quilts that were brought in this meeting:
There was also a table full of knits and crocheted items. Shawls, scarves, booties, beanies, a child's cardigan and a handful of flannel baby wraps.
