Second April Meeting

We had another big meeting last week, with some amazing work from our members.

We are having issues with sourcing wadding again.  With so many quilts coming in for wadding and backing, it is hard to find a good reliable source at a reasonable price.

There was also a lengthy discussion on places we could perhaps support in our local area.  A few suggestions were bandied around, and they will need to be followed up.

First up we had a couple of little quilts made by Lyn from Friday Quilters.  The fabrics were originally in a kit donated by Susan U from Queensland, and one kit was made up into 3 small kids quilts by Lyn.

The hearts fin this quilt were left overs from a UFO which Susan U donated too.

And some nice warm woolies to help with the current cold snap we have having.

And that's it for now.  See you in a couple of weeks.

4th April

Unbelievably we are now into the second quarter of this year; and also the start of Autumn.  My favourite time of the year.  Days are still lovely and warm, and the nights are cool.  What is your favourite season?

The Concord Senior Citizens Club have given us a donation of $300, which we are really grateful to have received.  It will be used to purchase more wadding.  The hall in which we meet is also the home of the Concord Senior Citizens Club, and there is also a little museum here too.

We've had a lovely Thank You letter from Dandelion Support Network, for recent donation we have made to them.

Following on from last month's suggestion, we have delivered a raffle quilt to each of 3 local primary schools - North Strathfield, Mortlake and Concord West for their various fund raising events.  We will hear more from these once the events have been held.

We have also set aside a quilt to be delivered to the Brisbane Waters Bridge Club to be raffled at their charity day event.

The big news is that we are now 20 years old as a group!  We had a long discussion on how we could celebrate this, and have decided to reserve the 29th August to celebrate it.

First up today are 3 quilts donated to us from Robyn.  Thank you Robyn for your continued, generous donations.

This next photo does not do justice to this stunning quilt!  It is actually made from 4 fat quarters.  Isn't it brilliant?

I like the stained glass effect of this quilt too.

That's it for now.
