Hello 2021!

Warning!  This post has a Lot of photos.

Our first meeting for the year is always an exciting event.  Everyone catching up with people they haven't seen for a couple of months and loads of gossip.  Our first meeting for this year was no exception.

A lot of quilts came in too, covering the floor of the hall in which we meet.  Quite a few were unfinished, so I will show them once they have been completed.  Here is what the floor looked like:

We have received a wonderful, and much needed donation from the Canada Bay Club. A big thank you for that, we couldn't operate without the generosity of our supporters.

We have made contact with the Greenwich Hospital Palliative Care Unit, who would be delighted to receive our quilts.  10 Lap quilts, 17 scarves, 2 shawls and 14 beanies were selected to be delivered to that unit.

We have also selected 14 single bed quilts for the Concord Palliative Care Unit to be delivered next week.

Several donations of fabric, some large enough for backings, have been donated to us and received with thanks.

Here are the quilts which arrived today:

Three quilts from our friends at Friday Quilters.  First two are from Sue:

And this one was made by Cheryl D:

Thank you ladies!  They will be put to good use, I am sure.

And a huge pile of flannel baby wraps came in too.

There are a couple of ladies who enjoy knitting and crochet, and they constantly supply us with bundles of goodies.  Scarves and beanies are always popular with the patients in Palliative Care:

Evelyn has mobilised the troops into making wonky log cabin blocks over the break.  These will be put together into quilts.  Just look at all these lush colours!  I am really looking forward to the quilts which come from this lot.

If you have read through to here; Thank You!  And hope to see you next time.
