First February Meeting

Not as many quilts this week, which is unsurprising, since the previous meeting was only 2 weeks ago.  Nevertheless, our industrious members managed quite a haul.  It is always an inspiration to go to a meeting to see what everyone else has created.

First up, an awesome donation from Jan's neighbour Lyn, who has knitted 52 beanies for us! A huge thank you for that Lyn.  Beanies are always popular when we distribute them, so they will be really useful.

Last time I posted (here), I mentioned that Evelyn has coordinated us into making wonky log cabin blocks in an attempt to reduce some of the donated stash in our cupboard.  These are then cross cut into four and resewn.  The first quilt from these blocks was brought in this week. The finished quilt looks amazing.

The group also made rainbow blocks in October from fabrics in our stash inspired by the Tula Pink City Sampler, from her book 100 Modern Quilt Blocks.   The blocks made by the group ended up in not one, but three quilts.  Love the scrappy rainbows!
