Last Meeting for 2019

Our last meeting of the year was held on November 21st.

We have received a number of invitations to attend end of year functions from Concord Hospital Palliative Care Unit Christmas Party, Concord Senior Citizen’s Christmas Party, and the City of Canada Bay Mayor’s Christmas Party.  A number of our members will be attending these functions to represent the group.
Here are the completed quilts this week.  Enjoy.

It actually this wasn't the last meeting - we had a fabulous lunch yesterday to celebrate the end of the year.  Lots of laughs, a really funny game ably presented by Lesley, and great food.

Thank you to everyone who has made this group possible.  A big thank you to everyone who has visited this blog and made comments.  It's good to know that you have enjoyed the posts, so keep those comments coming!

Have a wonderful Christmas and a restful summer holiday everyone, and we'll see you at the end of January.

A Massive Meeting

We had an absolutely enormous amount of things brought in to this meeting.  Just to give you an idea, here is the floor of the hall, almost completely covered in quilts.  I couldn't fit it all into one photo!

We had a lot of donations this week.  First up was a bundle of quilts generously donated to us by Wholly Quilts, Uniting Churches of Gosford for distribution as we saw fit.

Also from the Central Coast, was a big donation from St Paul's Kincumber.  This included a bundle of dresses for little girls, bootees and beanies for babies and four beautifully crafted teddy bears.

There was also a large bag of toiletries parcelled up into pretty little draw string bags, which I forgot to photograph.

All of these, together with any other children's things will be taken by Cheryl to Domestic Violence this week.

Also from St Paul's Kincumber were two knitted blankets, and two woollen cot blankets.

Here are the rest of the quilts brought in today, in no particular order:

Some cute flannel wraps.

Another lovely quilt donated to us by Wattlegrove Quilters.

This quilt was made by one of our original members, Rema, and quilted by Bev.

And this one was made by the ladies of the Trinity Grammar School craft group and quilted by Evelyn.

And last of all, two more fiddle quilts for Concord Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

So that's all for today.  Hope you enjoyed all the lovely quilts.

17th October

Updated on 31/11/2019 to add some photos:
Katie from Legacy called in today to collect some quilts, they would like some more before we finish this year if possible.
Bev delivered a couple of fiddle quilts to Jacquie at Concord Palliative Care Unit.  They would be happy to get a few more as well as a few more quilts if possible.
Evelyn delivered a quilt to Peggy for Concord Hospital Volunteers Xmas Raffle, and a quilt to Concord Preschool for their Xmas raffle.

There are a lot of children’s quilts in cupboard at the moment so they and any brought in over the next couple of meetings will be delivered to Domestic Violence. All lap quilts will be divided between Palliative Care and Legacy.

Here are the quilts brought in this week:

First up are a few flannel wraps.

And lots of children's beanies and booties as well as some beanies for adults.

This quilt was made from dozens of tiny nine patch units which were donated to the group some weeks back.

This is the quilt we donated to Concord Preschool for their Christmas raffle.  Isn't it fantastic!
