We were contacted by the Canada Bay Club asking for our permission to post an article on their webpage about our group. There was a bit of discussion about the content - will let you know when that happens.
The donations we selected and prepared last meeting have been delivered to St Mary's Villa and the Concord Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Helen's beanies have been a great hit at the latter.
After the huge number of quilts which arrived last meeting (I told you about that in my last post here), there weren't many completed quilts came in.

But the best bit was the visitors. Firstly Jess, a Constable with the local Police, came with a massive donation of beautiful fabrics, from her mother-in-law who is no longer quilting. We had so much fun sorting through those.
Before Jess left, Roxanne from the Leichhardt Women's Community Health Centre came in. She gave us an inspiring talk on the wide range of services the Centre provides, one of which is a mentoring program for young girls at risk. The Centre is the newest organisation on our list of recipients. To see what they do, you can click on the link above. Later in the afternoon, Tina and
Dale from the Rotary Club of Drummoyne called in with a donation from the Club.
Their generous support will allow
us to purchase some more desperately needed wadding so that we can continue to
support our community.
So the cupboard is bare, and we will be regrouping mid January after our Christmas break. See you then.
