A warning - There are a lot of photos in this post! So if you don't feel like looking through them, time to go. LOL
Our meeting started with show and tell as usual, and Evelyn kicked it off by showing us a wedding quilt she has made for a friend. Lucky friend!!
She also brought in a quilt she made for Aussie Heroes for a Naval Captain. It has each of his deployments listed down the side.
Several ladies actively sew for Aussie Heroes, and Cheryl is one of them. She made these two.
Jill was busy the last few weeks. She found these basket blocks in the cupboard as a UFO and pieced them into a top, then Cheryl quilted it.
Jill also made this top and quilted it too.
Several of the ladies have brought in quilt tops made for Aussie Heroes, which were pieced from the blocks of the month by ladies of the AHQ Community.
These two were made by Jill..
Ellen put these two together....
And Coleen, these ones....
This gorgeous 1930s quilt was made and quilted by Robin.
A UFO rescued by Robin and also quilted by her.
The next 4 quilts were quilted by Robin.
Robin was away over Christmas, and had only been back for a couple of weeks. Can't believe how much she achieved.
Jan made this one and quilted it. Love the soft muted colours, and she has done a great job of quilting too.
A friend of Jan's donated these quilt-as-you-go hexies, some of which had been completed. Jan made up the rest and added the border to finish it off.
My friend Di from Friday Quilters donated this one, as is. I have taken it home to complete it.
Made by Dasha by combining two UFOs - the centre medallion, and a bunch of Half Square Triangles.
Colleen made up the last two.
Well done for sticking it out as far as this. But we aren't quite finished.
I got up on the stage and took these two photos to show you what the floor looked like with all the quilts laid out. Even from that distance, I couldn't get it all into the one photo.
I think it was an awesome effort by everyone. Collective pats on back required don't you think!
