Happy New Year

As usual for our first meeting of the year, a huge bundle of 31 completed quilts came in, as well as a large bundle of flannel wraps and some crochet beanies. Congratulations to everyone for this effort.

Our sister group, the Monday Quilters have been busy, and there were a few quilts brought in.  The first three were donated blocks which were completed, then made into quilts.  Sadly, my photography was terrible on the second quilt.

Robyn D, a regular contributor to our group has sent in another lovely quilt.  Thank you Robyn.

The next two quilts are the work of the ladies in the Trinity Grammar Craft Group.  They too, have been very generous with their donations.

The rest of the quilts were made by our members

The block used in the next quilt is called Card Trick.  It looks great here!

And this one is called Shadow Box.  Doesn't this look good?

At our last meeting we set a challenge for members to take some fabric from the stash bins and make something with that.  This is the first of the quilts made from our bins.  I know there are a few more in the wings, and I'll show them as they are completed.

Lots of crocheted beanies,

A large shawl

And a large number of flannel baby wraps.

There were a lot of children's quilts

You might remember that I mentioned towards the end of the year, that we were working on using our supply of children's fabrics from the stash bins.  A lot of work has gone into cutting the fabrics into 6.5" squares, and we have all take some of the "kits" to make "I Spy" quilts.  Here are seven which came in completed.

We distributed some more kits, so there will be more of these come in through the next couple of meetings.

Amazing work everyone!  Well done.

See you next time.
