Thursday 19th

Jackie came to visit us this week to talk to us about the Palliative Care Unit at Concord Hospital.  If you read our posts, you will know that we give quilts to this unit on a regular basis.  This is a 20 bed unit, with unfortunately a high turn over.  Our quilts are always welcomed.  Jackie showed us a photo of a pile of quilts being taken through the wards on a trolley to enable the patients to chose which they like. Family and friends often weigh in with comments etc., which makes for a lively chat, some lasting as long as an hour.  Once selected, the quilts are treasured by their owners.

Next meeting Kim from Cara House and a representative from All Hallows Church at Five Dock will be coming in to chose quilts for their respective raffles, and to see what we do.

We had quite a lot of gorgeous quilts come in this week.

First three quilts were made by Jill:

Robin brought in three quilts which she had quilted.  The first two were a donation from Gillian, a Friday Quilters friend.  Lovely work Gillian, thank you.

Jan has been busy.  She brought in the next five quilts, the first four of which are hand pieced!

Maria's friend Robyn made the next quilt.  She has donated several quilts to us.  Thank you Robyn.

Another busy lady was Cheryl - she brought in 5 gorgeous scrappy quilts.
