3rd August

Once again there was a huge variety of completed quilts brought in, with several donations from our lovely generous friends.

One of our members gets together with a "Sit and Sew" group at Hobbysew.  These lovely ladies all made blocks to put together in this first quilt.  It was quilted by Mary.

The next two quilts were made by Elizabeth VDH.

Our friend Sue from Friday Quilters made this one:

Anne from the Trinity Grammar group made this:

You'd be forgiven for thinking I had doubled up on the photos.  I certainly had to look twice, but it really is two quilts, not one!

This next one is a flannel quilt.  It is so soft and warm to the touch.

The technique used to make this next quilt is called "Stack & Whack".  You layer 8 pieces of the same fabric, making sure that the patter repeat is perfectly aligned, then cut the wedges for the block.  It is a fabulous way to use a large scale print.

And lastly, some baby bootees, flannel wraps and some wooly beanies.

An industrious bunch this week weren't they?
